Currently we are using SQL Server 2000, we will going move the database to SQL Server 2008. May i know what is the best way to do it? (restore, attach or what)

Beside that, may i know what is Backward Compatibility?

As part of the upgrade (in database Maintenance) there is an option in the update scenarios to upgrade the database.

is it your mean is use the solomon database maintenance(98.290.00)?
besides that, what is the best way to move sql 2000 database to sql server 2008?

Hello, i always backup first in my bd server 2000 , and later restore my bd in the 2008 server
 
anyway, if you detach, need to have a backup alwasy,.. sometimes the attached makes some errors.
