    Posted: August 13 2015 at 5:29pm
I am upgrading our server that is running the NAS ADCS service with the VT100

plugin from Windows 2003 32-bit to 2012R2 64-bit. We are running Navision 2009

R2. Everything seems to be working, but the handheld scanners that we use for

inventory and receiving are slower than they were when the ADCS and VT100

plugin were on the old 2003 server. We are using Intermec scanners with the

ITE terminal emulator. The scans go through, just much slower on the handheld

scanners. It seems to read/write to the NAV DB just fine, but the data is

slower to/from the handhelds. I've tried running the new server on a VM and on

physical hardware, and I've also tried several different suggestions on

network settings but none of this seems to make any difference. Does anyone

have any ideas could be causing this problem? Thank you for your input!

I found the fix...Per Microsoft KB2433901

RESOLUTION
Installations which encounter this issue should alter the Windows Registry entries for ADCS on the machine hosting the NAS and VT100 Plugin service according to the following recommendations:

    In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Navision:
Under the key ADCS\VT100Plugin\Symbol1 verify that the following “Plugin ServerIP” string value is defined and set to the machines public IPv4 address.
Under the key ADCS\Application Servers\ADCSNAS1 check if the “SocketServerName” string value exists. If not, add it and ensure it is set to the machines public IPv4 address.
If the relevant machine is using a 64 bit version of Windows 2008 then repeat Step 1 above for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Navision.
Restart the NAS and the ADCS service.
