We have SQL Server 2000 with SP3 installed. In the task manager there are always two process with name "sqlserver.exe" running. One with 5,000 k and the other with 12,000 k memory usage. Why is that there are two processes? Is this because some virus?

Do you have multiple instances of SQL Server running? If yes, then Task Manager will show the multiple entries of sqlserver.exe.
