Hi,

I am trying to upgrade the great plains v9 to v10. At the moment we are not even on service pack 2 for GPv9.

I want to test this on a separate server. I am currently reading the documentation i.e the Installation Instructions Release 9.0 and in chapter 5 they talk about 'Account Framework'.

Do I need to set it up again - or when I do a restore of the database of our company - will the framework be restored?

Thanx

Basically the Account Framework determines the structure of some of the SQL tables (GL00100 and GL00105 for example).  The more segments in the framework then the moree columns will be in the table.

If you are restoring the databases then you need to ensure that the client software matches the framework.  To do this either get a copy of the current Dynamics.Dic file form the live environment or set the SYNCHRONIZE property to TRUE in the DEX.INI and launch GP Utilities.

Jon.
